White Water in Brisbane?

Well, kind of. If a huge amount of rain falls in a short period and you are able to be at a sufficiently steep creek within hours of this rain falling.

After the lashing SE Qld received this week, Liam, Mike and myself decided to go and check out the South Pine River near Samford. For experienced white water paddlers the grade 2/3 rapids, separated by long fast moving pools, wouldn't have rated very high on the excitement scale. But we had an absolute blast!

We paddled the 4.5 km section from the bridge on Mt O'Reilly Rd to the Mt Samson Rd bridge at around 1.7m on the Drapers Crossing gauge. Highly recommended!
